Creativity is the driving force behind innovation and the key to standing out in a competitive business landscape. It is the spark that transforms ideas into groundbreaking ventures. Yet, despite its undeniable importance, creativity in entrepreneurship faces a multitude of barriers that can stifle its growth and potential.

The Behaviour of the entrepreneurs starts right from the imagination of some new idea. But, he does not limit himself to the imagination of the idea alone but also attempts to give it material shape. Hence, he is regarded as creative and barriers to creativity.

But, such activities are possible only in a good and free atmosphere. But, the question arises, why he is not able to do so?

Entrepreneurial teams can sometimes fall prey to conformity and groupthink, where members are hesitant to voice unconventional ideas for fear of rejection or conflict.

This conformity stifles creativity, as it discourages the exploration of alternative perspectives. To combat this barrier, entrepreneurs must foster a culture that encourages open dialogue, diversity of thought, and the appreciation of unique viewpoints.

3. Lack of Commitment

For the creative person, the special quality of fulfilling the commitments is essential. With this quality, he will fulfill his commitment.

6. Overemphasis on ROI

In today’s metrics-driven business world, entrepreneurs often face pressure to prioritize short-term return on investment (ROI) over long-term creative projects.

This fixation on immediate financial gains can lead to neglecting innovative ideas that may take time to mature.

Entrepreneurs should strike a balance between short-term financial goals and long-term creative pursuits, understanding that creativity often pays dividends in the long run.

7. Tendency of Permanency in Person

It is commonly observed that till a person does not enter into the work security category, like, becoming a permanent employee, he fully utilizes his physical, mental, and individual capacities.

14. Insecurity of Work

Creativity and creative behavior, new thinking, new ideas, development of new commodities, and applications of new constitutions create an apprehension of being unsecured (by surplus working, or not having work) in the employees, which disturbs creative behavior in the future, and no creativity is undertaken.

15. Industry Conventions and Regulations

Certain industries are burdened with rigid conventions and regulations that stifle creative thinking.

Entrepreneurs operating in such spaces may find it challenging to introduce innovative solutions that challenge the status quo.

Overcoming this barrier requires tenacity, a thorough understanding of industry regulations, and strategic alliances to navigate potential obstacles.

16. Excess Dependence

Some people do not use their own wisdom, qualities, abilities, and intelligence and consider others’ knowledge and ability more perfect and depend upon them, and no creativity and creative behavior emerges in such a person.

20. Doubts and Confusions

Often, most of the managers and their subordinates are in doubt and confusion and think and say, whether the new ideas will be applicable in practice, or not, whether new products will be developed or not, whether this will be accepted by the consumers or not, etc.

Besides, in the dictatorial system of Management, the managers and subordinates have to do that only, which is directed by the owners.

In these conditions, they neglect self-wisdom, new ideas, new thinking, and creative behavior.

21. Group Dominance

The entrepreneurs may have one or several organizations.

Out of them if some organizations are under the special influence of a particular group, then the common man will not be inspired to do something new, the reason being that they have the fear that it will not be possible to sustain, before that particular group, and hence do not feel inspired for creativity.
